As part of a regular review of its Managed Funds range, Columbia Threadneedle (CT) Investments made a number of updates from 1 August 2026 across the following funds:
- CT Managed Bond Fund
- CT Managed Bond Focused Fund
- CT Managed Equity & Bond Fund
- CT Managed Equity Focused Fund
- CT Managed Equity Fund
The main change is a reduction in the funds’ allocation to UK investments, with a greater emphasis on global markets. Around a quarter of each fund’s existing UK exposure is expected to be reallocated to overseas equities and bonds. This reflects the UK’s smaller share of global stock markets today and growing demand from investors for more internationally diversified portfolios.
To support this change, CT will update the investment objectives, policies and benchmarks used for the funds. UK-specific equity and bond indices will be removed from the benchmark structure, with global indices taking a more prominent role. However, UK investments will still form part of the portfolios through their inclusion in broader global indices.
Importantly, these updates do not change the way the funds are managed. The investment philosophy, asset allocation process, manager selection approach and risk controls will remain the same.
Origen Commentary
Investors do not need to take any action, as the changes will have been applied automatically. While the regional mix of investments will shift towards a more global approach, the underlying investment process and risk profile of each fund remain unchanged.
We view these updates as a reflection of broader trends across the investment industry, where globally diversified portfolios have become increasingly common. As a result, we have no concerns regarding the proposed changes.
