At Aegon Financial Planning, we’re proud to celebrate the outstanding charitable efforts of our dedicated teams and colleagues. From supporting men’s mental health initiatives to raising funds for vital children’s care and lifesaving NHS services, our commitment to giving back is at the heart of what we do.
Supporting men’s mental health
Our Aegon Financial Planning teams have recently been involved in some fantastic charitable activities. Last year, Andy’s Man Club was chosen as the charity partner. This organisation offers safe and welcoming peer-to-peer support groups for men across the United Kingdom, addressing the important issue of men’s mental health.
Demonstrating their commitment, the team participated in a range of fundraising events, including a beach clean in Southend-on-Sea, a charity bridge walk in London, and even an ultra-marathon. Through these efforts, they helped raise awareness for the cause and succeeded in securing an impressive total of £18,194.04 last year alone.
Zoe Meaton Takes on the London Marathon
Zoe Meaton, one of our Financial Planning Managers, will be taking part in this year’s London Marathon to support Julia’s House. Julia’s House is a charity dedicated to providing flexible and specialist care for children with life-limiting conditions.
This cause is particularly meaningful to Zoe, as her best friend’s nephew received end-of-life care from Julia’s House after being diagnosed with a brain tumour at just five years old. With Julia’s House needing to raise 93% of its annual funding independently, Zoe has pledged to raise £3,000. Alongside actively preparing for the marathon, Zoe is organising various fundraising activities, including quiz nights and raffles, to help reach her target.
Alex Mills – Running a Half Marathon for His Granddaughter
Alex Mills, Client Services Team Manager, participated in the Blickling Half Marathon on 29th March to support Norfolk Blood Bikes. This organisation is staffed entirely by volunteers and plays a vital role in transporting blood and breast milk between hospitals for the NHS, both during and outside regular hours.
Alex’s dedication to this cause stems from personal experience; his granddaughter was born prematurely at just 23 weeks, and Norfolk Blood Bikes provided essential blood supplies that supported her survival. Inspired by their selflessness and hard work, Alex took on the challenge to give back and support their ongoing mission.
These inspiring stories demonstrate not only the generosity of our staff but also the significance of supporting causes that touch lives in profound ways. We thank everyone who has contributed and encourage ongoing support for these invaluable organisations.
